Family & home widgets: baby, plants and chores

How to use the baby, plant, chore and family widgets — baby age, growth chart, feeding log, watering, chore rotation, fridge expiry — and where data is stored.

These widgets live in the Family & Home category of the library (Family & Home; see also Notion family widgets and Notion plant widgets) and are all free. Sample names (Bean, Riley…) are made up, sample dates follow today, and everything sample is labeled Sample until you enter your own. No real photos are used.

Baby

WidgetYou fill in / dataIt shows
Baby Age TrackerNickname, birth date (a future date = due date)Days old, age in months and days, the next milestone (1 month, 100 days, half birthday, 1st birthday, 1,000 days…), or a due-date countdown
Baby Growth ChartMy Data · Growth log table (height, weight)Latest height / weight, change since last time, the curve over 3 months to a year
Baby Feeding & Diaper LogMy Data · Baby care log tableToday’s feeds, diaper changes, amount and sleep, time since the last one; the last 7 days in the large size
  • The growth chart is a record, not an assessment. It doesn’t draw WHO or any standard percentile curves or say whether a value is high or low, and it’s labeled “For reference only”. Ask your doctor about any growth concerns.
  • Feeding & diaper log: tap Feeds or Diapers to log one; tap Sleep and pick how long. Turn on “Ask for the amount when logging a feed” to choose 30–180 ml (you can skip it). The widget only records — it never suggests how often to feed.
  • The Baby Day Counter icon sits next to a Notion page title and counts up each day, with a special look on milestones and birthdays.
  • The growth chart has a Show numbers switch — turn it off on pages others can see to show only the curve.

Plants

  • Plant Watering Reminder: for each plant, set “Water every (days)” and “Last watered”. The widget works out the next watering day and sorts plants by date — due today in blue, late in red, with a ring showing how much time is left. Use your own schedule; the widget doesn’t give plant-care advice.
    • It works without My Data (using the dates in the settings). Create and connect a Watering log table in the editor’s Data section and a Watered button appears next to each plant: tap it to log watering and the next date moves along. Plant names must match your log once connected.
  • Plant Wall: shows only photos you upload. Give each plant a name and the date you got it to show how many days you’ve had it; sample illustrations show until you add photos. The small size shows a different plant each day.

Chores and family

  • Chore Rotation: list members separated by commas (up to 8) and up to 10 chores. In the round that includes the start date, the first chore goes to the first member, and each round moves everyone along by one; with fewer people than chores, someone gets more than one. Rotate every week (on Mondays), day, two weeks or month. The large size shows who’s next with a small avatar.
  • Family Dates: add birthdays, anniversaries, trips and school events, repeating every year, every month or once (past one-off events disappear). For birthdays and anniversaries, enter the original date with the year to show the age or anniversary number.
  • Fridge Expiry Tracker: add items and their dates; they’re sorted by date. “Warn this many days before” defaults to 3 — items close to their date turn yellow, past ones red. Works for the medicine cabinet and pantry too. It only reminds you of dates; check the label and the food itself.

Connecting My Data

The growth chart and the feeding & diaper log need a My Data table (optional for the watering reminder). In the editor’s Data section, click Create “Growth log” and connect (or “Baby care log”, “Watering log”), or pick an existing table of the same kind — see Data section. Entries are private by default, and you can edit, delete or export them in My Data.

Daily writes count toward the usual limits: 20 a day on Free and 80 on Pro — see Limits & Pro. When you hit the limit the widget says “Daily logging limit reached”, and it resets the next day.
