Add sites to your start page, import bookmarks
Add sites to your WidgetStore start page in one step. Paste a link, search suggestions, pick several at once, drag links in, or import bookmarks.
Putting a site on your start page takes one step: paste a link, tap a suggestion, or bring all your browser bookmarks over at once. Mix and match these freely. The same link is only added once across your whole start page, and anything you add can be undone.
Paste or type a link
- Click Add in the top right of your start page (or just press + on your keyboard).
- Paste a link into Paste a link or search for a site, or type just the domain, like
github.com. - Press Enter. The tile appears right away, and its name and icon fill in a moment later.
Search suggested sites
Type a site's name in the same box, such as "notion", "youtube" or "amazon", and suggested sites with icons appear (popular sites in your content region first, then other regions). One click adds it.
Add several at once
Popular lists the sites people use in your region by category (Social, Video, News, Shopping, AI…): tap to add, tap again to remove, and pick as many as you like. The bar at the bottom says "Added 3 sites", and Undo removes them all. Sites already on your start page have a green check.
Import browser bookmarks
Click Add → Import bookmarks (empty pages have this button too; with no start page yet, click Start from your bookmarks in My Dashboards). There are two sources:
- Read from this browser (Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer, with the browser extension): click Read bookmarks. The first time, a small window explains why, and after you click Continue your browser asks you to confirm. Its prompt says "read and change your bookmarks" because that's how browsers name this permission; WidgetStore only reads them. After that you won't be asked again, and you can take the permission back any time in the extension settings.
- Upload a bookmarks file: every browser can export bookmarks as an HTML file, including Safari and bookmarks synced from your phone. The file is read on your device only.
- Chrome / Edge: Bookmark manager (Ctrl + Shift + O) → ⋮ in the top right → Export bookmarks
- Firefox: Bookmarks → Manage bookmarks → Import and Backup → Export Bookmarks to HTML
- Safari: File → Export → Bookmarks…
You'll then see your folders:
- Select all, tick whole folders or single sites, or search bookmarks at the top.
- Sites already on your start page are marked Already added, and duplicates are marked Duplicate. Neither is imported again.
- Put them in: A page per folder turns each folder into a page named after it (a page with the same name is reused, and sites in subfolders go on their folder's page). One page lets you pick an existing page or a new "Bookmarks" page.
- Click Import N sites. You can Undo from the bar at the bottom.
There's no limit on pages or sites, on the free plan too. You can import up to 500 sites at a time, so if you have lots of bookmarks, import them in a few rounds.
Most visited
With the browser extension, the Add panel also has Most visited: pick from the sites you open most in your browser (the row on your browser's new tab, not your history). It asks for permission once the first time.
After adding
- New tiles go at the end of the current page's sites, scroll into view and briefly highlight.
- While the panel is open, your start page slides over so new tiles aren't hidden behind it.
- Want a different name? Right-click the tile → Edit site. Removed one by mistake? Click Undo in the bar at the bottom.
Privacy
Bookmarks and most visited sites are read only when you click, shown only in that page, and only the sites you tick are saved to your start page. Preview icons are fetched by domain name only, never the full address. See the privacy policy.
