Check-in links: log from Notion with one tap
Create a write-only check-in link for a table and put it in Notion or a phone bookmark to log with a tap — or send entries from iOS Shortcuts and other automations.
A check-in link is a write-only link: open it, tap Log it, and it logs to your data table. Keep it on a Notion page, in a phone bookmark or on your home screen, and you can log without opening WidgetStore.
Create a check-in link
- Open a table in My Data and go to Settings.
- Under Check-in link, click Create check-in link.
- Click Copy check-in link and save it wherever you'll use it.
What gets logged
- By day tables: adds to today's entry. Habit trackers get Done checked; counters go up by 1. Log several times a day and a counter keeps adding up.
- By time tables: adds a new entry each time.
These entries show Check-in link as their source.
Using it in Notion
Paste the check-in link into Notion as a bookmark or a text link. It opens a small page; tap Log it and you'll see Logged with today's total. Just opening the page doesn't log anything, so link previews and accidental taps are harmless.
For automations
The link's settings include For automations (iOS Shortcuts, etc.): send a POST request with JSON to the address shown to add entries from iOS Shortcuts or other automation tools. These count toward your daily writes too.
Security
- Check-in links are write-only: they can't read, edit or delete your data.
- The key sits after the
#in the link, so browsers never send it to servers or other sites. - Link leaked? Reset it (the old link stops working right away) or Turn off the link in settings.
- Check-in links and widget keys are independent of each other.
Limits
Check-in links share the daily write allowance with the web and widgets: 20 writes a day on Free (15 per table), 80 on Pro (50 per table). See Free and Pro limits.
