WidgetStore - Widgets, animated icons, dashboards and personal pages for Notion

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to WidgetStore (MCP)

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor to WidgetStore with the official MCP server: update your status, add countdowns, links or to-dos in one sentence.

WidgetStore has an official MCP server. Add it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any other app that supports MCP, sign in and allow access once, and then just ask in a chat:

  • “Set my status to: on vacation in Kyoto, back next week”
  • “Add a countdown to my exam on December 20”
  • “Add Figma to my start page”
  • “Check in running today and log 45 minutes of writing”

Your AI makes the change, and your personal page and the widgets embedded in Notion update too. Overview page: /ai.

MCP URL:

https://widgetstore.net/mcp

Claude (web and desktop)

  1. In claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, open Settings → Connectors and click “Add custom connector”.
  2. Name it WidgetStore, paste the MCP URL above, and click Add.
  3. Click Connect, then sign in on the WidgetStore page and click Allow.

Now just ask in any chat. You can turn the connector on or off from the tools menu in the message box. The web and desktop apps share the same connectors.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http widgetstore https://widgetstore.net/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code, pick widgetstore, and sign in and allow access in your browser.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode. This needs a plan that supports custom connectors.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create: name it WidgetStore, enter the MCP URL above as the server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
  3. Sign in to WidgetStore when asked and allow access, then pick it from the “+” menu in a chat.

Cursor

  1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (global) or .cursor/mcp.json in a project and add:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "widgetstore": { "url": "https://widgetstore.net/mcp" }
  }
}
  1. Open the MCP list in Cursor Settings and click Login next to widgetstore.
  2. Sign in and allow access in your browser, then head back to Cursor.

Any other app that supports remote MCP servers (Streamable HTTP) with OAuth works with the same URL. For tools that can't sign in, use a personal API token.

Safety and undo

  • Only what you allow: on the consent page you can untick permissions you don't want to give (Read is always included).
  • No deleting: there are no delete tools. Your AI can create and edit, but it can't touch your account settings, payments or membership.
  • Every change is logged: the Activity list in Settings → API & AI connections shows who changed what and when. Undo with one click for 7 days (if the same item changed again later, undo the newer change first).
  • Public text is checked: text added to your personal page goes through a content safety check first.
  • Daily limits: Free includes 100 calls a day, 30 of them changes, and up to 5 connected apps. Pro includes 300 calls, 100 changes and up to 20 apps.

FAQ

“This connection request isn't valid”? Remove the connector in your AI app and add it again. The URL must match the one above exactly (no trailing /).

My AI says it lacks permission (insufficient_scope). That permission was unticked when you connected. Disconnect the app in Settings, connect again, and keep the permissions you need on the consent page.

It says today's limit is used up. Limits reset every day at midnight Beijing time (UTC+8). Reading doesn't count toward changes. Pro has higher limits.

My AI made the wrong change. Ask it to “undo that last change”, or click Undo in the Activity list in Settings.

Will my data be used to train models? Not by WidgetStore. What your AI reads becomes part of your chat with that app and is handled under the app's own privacy policy. See our privacy policy.
