Embed in Notion, Obsidian, FlowUs and other apps
How to add widgets, animated icons and animated covers to Notion, plus how to use them in Obsidian, FlowUs, Wolai, GitHub and on your own website.
There are two ways to use what you make: widgets are web pages, so you embed them; animated icons and covers are images, so you use their image link.
Widgets: embed a web page
Click Copy embed link in the top-right corner of the editor, then:
| App | How |
|---|---|
| Notion | Type /embed and paste the link, or paste the link and choose Embed. Drag the corners to resize |
| FlowUs | Add an embed block and paste the link |
| Wolai | Type /embed and choose the web page embed. For Wolai, use the arrow next to Copy embed link and pick Legacy usage |
| Obsidian | Add an iframe to your note: <iframe src="LINK" width="100%" height="300"></iframe>. It shows in reading view |
| Your website or blog | Embed it with an iframe the same way |
Animated icons: use as a page icon
- Click Copy embed link in the editor — for icons, this is an image link.
- In Notion, click the page icon and choose to add a custom image by link, then paste it.
- The icon now updates by itself (for example, a new date every day).
Animated covers: use as a page cover
- Copy the link the same way.
- In Notion, click Change cover → Link, paste it and confirm.
GitHub README and WordPress
Animated icons and covers also work in a GitHub README or on WordPress. Click the arrow next to Copy embed link and choose Markdown (GitHub README) or <img> usage.
Troubleshooting
- The embed is blank in Notion: make sure you chose Embed, not Bookmark, then refresh the page.
- It won't load on a work or school network: some networks block embedded pages. Try another network.
- My changes don't show up: edits save automatically — refresh the Notion page. Animated icons and covers may be cached for a few minutes.
- Still stuck? Email us (the address is at the bottom of this page) with the widget link and a screenshot.
