Flows: make your connected apps work together

Five built-in flows in Settings → Connections: note focus time on Todoist / Linear tasks, plan around meetings, sync completions and GitHub contributions, and more.

Once you've connected Todoist, Linear, GitHub or a calendar, they can work together: when something happens in one place, a step happens automatically in another. Flows run on our servers, so they work the same whether you use a computer, your phone, the browser extension or ask your AI.

Where to turn them on

  1. Click your avatar (top right) → Settings → Connections, and scroll down to Flows.
  2. Each flow has a card: what it does, when it runs, whether it writes to another app and whether it can be undone. Turn on the switch to start it.
  3. If a flow needs an app you haven't connected, the card says "Connect … first" — tap Connect to jump to that app's card.

The 5 built-in flows

FlowWhenWhat it doesDefault
Note focus time on the taskWhen you finish focusing on a Todoist / Linear taskAdds a comment "⏱ focused for N minutes" (minutes only) to that task; undoable (deletes the comment)Off (writes to Todoist / Linear)
Calendar → Focus: plan around meetingsWhen you use "Plan my day"; optionally the first time you open Focus each dayTreats today's busy calendar time as taken; optionally adds today's events as to-dos (estimate = event length, only events of at least 15 / 30 / 60 minutes), undoableOff
Todoist / Linear completions → Focus statsDaily, when you open Focus or the extensionSyncs how many tasks you completed each day into the "Completed tasks" table in My Data, and Focus stats show the countOff
GitHub → My Data: daily contributionsDaily, when you open Focus or the extensionWrites your daily GitHub contributions into the "GitHub contributions" table in My Data, ready for charts and heatmapsOff
Weekly review includes your appsIn the AI weekly reviewAdds this week's completed tasks, GitHub contributions and meeting time (numbers only)On (read-only)
  • "Note focus time on the task" is the same switch as "Log focus time on tasks" on the task cards; the two sync flows are the same switches as "Sync to My Data" on their cards. Change either one and both follow.
  • To focus on a connected task, tap ▶ next to a Todoist / Linear task in the Focus to-do panel. Timing on another device, in the browser extension, or having your AI record it with log_focus_for_task all add the comment too.
  • The weekly review skips any app where you turned off "On-site AI can read" in Connections.

Limits

The read-only weekly review flow doesn't count toward either limit. When site-wide usage is high, flows for free accounts pause for a while and resume automatically.

Recent runs and undo

  • Recent runs under Flows lists the latest runs: what happened, when, and whether it failed.
  • Runs that can be undone (deleting a comment written to a task, removing to-dos added from your calendar) have an Undo button. Everything is also listed under Settings → API & AI connections → Activity, where you can undo within 7 days.
  • If another app is temporarily unreachable, the flow retries the next time you open Focus or the extension (up to 3 times).
  • Run now on a card syncs right away or adds today's events to your to-dos without waiting.

Use flows from your AI

After connecting Claude, ChatGPT or another app (see MCP), your AI can:

  • list_my_flows: see which flows are on, today's runs and recent results.
  • run_flow: run a flow that's on right now (needs the permission for what that flow writes).
  • log_focus_for_task: record a focus session on a Todoist / Linear task; with the flow on, the minutes are noted on the task.
  • get_my_series: daily numbers such as focus minutes, meeting time, completed tasks and GitHub contributions; read_connected_data: read calendars, Focus to-dos, My Data and everything else you've connected.

Turning flows on or off is only possible on the website — your AI can't switch on a flow that writes to another app for you.
