WidgetStore - Widgets, animated icons, dashboards and personal pages for Notion

Connect GitHub to show your own GitHub data

Connect GitHub so your GitHub widgets use your own account, plus contribution, stats and streak widgets, a page card and a daily My Data sync. Link only, no sign-in.

Once you connect GitHub, WidgetStore can show your contributions, stars and repos using your own GitHub account. It's a link only: you can't sign in or sign up with GitHub, and your sign-in methods don't change.

How to connect

  1. Sign in, open Settings → Connected accounts, and click Connect GitHub on the GitHub card.
  2. Approve on GitHub. By default we only ask for read:user: your public profile and contributions — never your private repos.
  3. Back in WidgetStore, the card shows your avatar, username, the date you connected and where it's in use.

The connection link is valid for 10 minutes and must be finished in the same browser and WidgetStore account where you started. A GitHub account can be connected to only one WidgetStore account; use Switch to change accounts.

What it unlocks

FeatureWhat you get
My GitHub ContributionsYour own contribution calendar: yearly total, current and longest streak, best day, 6 color themes, "last 12 months / this year / last year", and clickable years in the large size
My GitHub StatsFollowers, stars earned, public repos, contributions in the last year and top languages
GitHub StreakHow many days in a row you've contributed, longest streak, last 7 and 30 days
GitHub Repo Card, GitHub Stats, GitHub ContributionsData fetched with your account, so it's fresher (repos every 30 minutes, others every 3 hours). In the editor, use Pick from my GitHub repos under Repository
GitHub card on your pageIn the My Page editor, choose More cards → GitHub. It fills itself from your account and updates daily
Sync to My DataTurn on Sync contributions to My Data daily to write your daily count into a read-only "GitHub contributions" table for Notion charts, heatmaps and exports

You'll find these widgets in the Developer category. They're all free. Without a connection, the "My GitHub" widgets ask you to connect, and the classic GitHub widgets keep using public data.

Privacy: public data by default

Widgets and your page are public — anyone with the link can see them — so:

  • Only public repos are counted. Private repos never appear in the repo card or the repo picker.
  • The contribution calendar matches what anyone sees on your GitHub profile.
  • To show private contribution counts in widgets, turn on Show private contribution counts in widgets in Settings. That needs a second authorization with repo access (GitHub has no read-only private scope). We only read daily counts — no code, no repo names. Turn it off and widgets go back to public contributions right away.

Your tokens are stored encrypted and used only on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Expired access, refresh and disconnect

  • GitHub access renews automatically. If you revoke it on GitHub or it expires after a long time unused, Settings shows Reconnect needed — click Reconnect. Until then, widgets fall back to public data.
  • Refresh re-reads your GitHub profile (useful after changing your avatar or name).
  • Disconnect revokes WidgetStore's access on GitHub and removes the link. The "GitHub contributions" table in My Data stays; you can delete the whole table in My Data.
