Reading widgets for Notion

Currently Reading shows the cover, your page and an estimated finish date. Set the page in the editor, or connect My Data and tap +10 pages to log right on the widget. The reading log adds +10 / +20 / +30 minutes in a tap and shows your reading streak and yearly total — both widgets can share the same Reading log table.

The bookshelf lines up the books you’ve read, are reading and want to read, with spines set from the titles or your own cover photos, plus this year’s count against your goal. The daily excerpt shows one of the lines you’ve copied each day. Nothing is pulled from Goodreads or any other platform — the books and excerpts are all yours.

FAQ

Where do the book covers come from?
By default a cover or spine is set from the title. To use a real cover, upload your own photo (only images you have the right to use). The widgets never fetch covers from the web.
Where is my reading log stored?
When Currently Reading or the reading log is connected to My Data, pages and minutes are saved to your own Reading log table, where you can view, edit and export them. Currently Reading also works without a table — just set the page in the editor.
What are the sample books and quotes?
Until you add your own, the widgets show public-domain classics (like Walden and Pride and Prejudice), marked as samples. They disappear once you add your books and excerpts.
Are these widgets free?
All 4 widgets on this page are free. Sign in to create them — free accounts can create a limited number, Pro has no limit.
Do they work in the Notion mobile and desktop apps?
Yes. Widgets are regular web embeds, so they show up in Notion on the web, on desktop and in the mobile app, as long as the device is online.
What language are the widgets in? Is there dark mode?
Widget text follows each visitor's browser language — English, Japanese, Simplified or Traditional Chinese. Most widgets also switch between light and dark with the system setting.
Can I use them outside Notion?
Anywhere that can embed a web page: Obsidian, FlowUs, Wolai, or your own website with an iframe.
